While arguably one of the most eccentric, interesting and experimental artists still making music today, R. Stevie Moore is one you most likely won’t be hearing so much about. A lo-fi and experimental legend, Moore has recorded over 400 albums and has been recognized as ‘the godfather of home-taping’, inspiring artists worldwide to begin independently recording albums at home – even in their own bedrooms. Working with several artists such as Ariel Pink, XTC, The Vaccines,Tim Burgess, and members of MGMT to name a few –  the influence has been immense. Even Mac DeMarco previously mentioned that R. Stevie randomly called him while he was out and had a chat with his mom – surely an unreal experience.
Finally,  Imogen Putler and Monika Baran thought that the icon should be recognized and have set out to make a documentary which is currently in the midst of a Kickstarter campaign. There are some great rewards for backing the project including exclusively signed copies of albums, a tour through R. Stevie’s house, a Skype serenade and a song personally recorded for you by the man himself!
