Rutherford Chang is a record collector, though his collection sets him apart from anyone else – he only collects The Beatles’ first pressing of The White Album. The New York-based artist buys the albums in any condition and displays them at Recess gallery in New York, creating quite an interesting and unique collection. Album cases scribbled with lyrics and notes, burns, tears and scuffs all contribute to the charm of the collection. Currently the 693 copy collection is not for sale, but exhibition visitors are welcome to browse and listen to the albums during their visit.
